Shab-e-Mehraj: Preparations on, will ensure better arrangements to devotees, says Waqf Board Chairperson | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson, Dr. Darakshan Andrabi Wednesday said that all the preparations will be put in place to ensure better facilities to the devotees on the upcoming Shab-e-Mehraj. She added that the Waqf has made efforts to address all the issues regarding Dargah Hazratbal and expressed hope that Shab-e-Mehraj would be celebrated with great devotion. Pertinently, Shab-e-Mehraj is observed every year in the month of the Islamic Date of Rajab 27, and begins on the evening of 07 February, 2024. Speaking to the media at Khanyar, Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, while inaugurating various development works, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), mentioned, as the Waqf Board takes charge of shrines in J&K, efforts have consistently been made to address all the issues. She added that the primary concern was the lack of proper space for washrooms at shrines in the Valley. “These issues were often highlighted by visitors of the shrines,” she said. Similar to other shrines, the J&K Waqf Board has established washrooms here at Khanyar, today marking its inauguration, alongside laying the foundation for other projects. Asked about the preparations for Shab-e-Mehraj at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar, Dr. Andrabi stated that all the necessary arrangements will be put in place. The Waqf has strived to address all the issues at Dargah Hazratbal, expressing optimism that Shab-e-Mehraj will be celebrated with great devotion—(KNO)
